Villain: The Demon

Guest Appearance: The Disciple

Letters Page: Page One

Synopsis: A man rushes in seeking the aid of Dr. Strange. He says he was pressed into duty as a disciple of The Demon, an evil purveyor of the mystic arts. The Demon realizes his disciple is with Dr. Strange, and he casts a spell bringing him back to his lair and then imprisons him. As the disciple disappears into thin air, his clothes fall to the floor in a heap. Dr. Strange tries to seek the source of the Demon's power, but cannot locate him. He animates the disciple's clothes and follows them to the Demon's lair. He levitates into the lair- using the power of his new cloak- but the Demon is there to trap him inside the crimson bands of Cyttorak.

The Demon thinks he has him utterly defeated, but Dr. Strange has slipped out of his body and into his etheral form. He reads through the Demon's books to learn the nature of the spells he uses, then rejoins his body with his new knowledge and breaks free of the crimson bands! He launches an all-out attack on the Demon which proves to be too much for the evildoer. He frees the disciple from his prison and casts a spell over the Demon, causing him to forget for a time that he has mystical powers.
